Navig8 Freight Purchases Additional Carbon Credits to Support Amazon Forest Protection

Navig8 Freight has completed another carbon credit purchase as part of its ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable logistics.

On February 18, 2026, Navig8 Freight purchased 250 tonnes of CO₂e carbon credits through the CIKEL Brazilian Amazon REDD+ APD Project, a Verra-registered initiative located in Paragominas, Brazil. This latest investment reinforces Navig8 Freight’s long-term sustainability strategy of reducing the environmental impact of freight transportation while supporting global climate solutions.

Why This Project Matters

The CIKEL REDD+ project was Brazil’s first Avoided Planned Deforestation (APD) initiative. Since 2007, it has worked to prevent forest loss in a region where approximately 70% of the original forest has already been cleared. Rather than converting forest land to cattle farming, the project chose long-term forest preservation.

The project:

• Protects 27,000 hectares of native forest

• Prevents approximately 372,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually

• Supports 300 people across four local communities

• Protects 518 species, including endangered wildlife
